The “Device Manage” button in Microsoft Intune is greyed out and cannot be accessed.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Enable MDM for All Devices:
Go to Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
Navigate to:
Devices
> Enrollment
> Automatic enrollment
Under MDM user scope, set the toggle to "All".
Click Save.
Disable Windows Information Protection (WIP) (if applicable):
Go to: Endpoint Security
> App protection policies
Locate and delete any existing WIP policies that might be interfering.
WIP is not supported alongside certain MDM settings — disabling it removes the conflict.
Wait for Propagation:
Changes may take up to 24 hours to reflect across all devices and UI components.
Refresh the browser or sign out/in again to see the updated button status.
Ensure you have the appropriate admin roles (e.g., Intune Administrator or Global Administrator).
If using Microsoft Entra, confirm that device registration is enabled under:
Microsoft Entra ID
> Devices
> Device settings
