SIP ALG Issues with VoIP and why it should be disabled

SIP ALG should be disabled for Voiceware VoIP system. Please note that on many routers and firewalls SIP ALG is by default enabled. 

 

To find out if SIP ALG is disabled, please download the attached file for Windows. 

 

1. Make sure the Windows machine is connected to the telephony network

2. Open the file and run the application

3. Accept any permissions your Windows machine may ask for

4. The application will now run its tests. 

 

If the result = False, then a SIP ALG was not detected by the client

If the result = True, then a SIP ALG is active and must be turned off

******The attached file needs to be unzipped when downloaded. Just go to where the file is located, right click and select Extract All. Then run the sip-alg-detector.exe file.
